Our Leadership
At Prescott Church of Christ, we believe leadership in the church is a calling rooted in Scripture. In 1 Timothy 3:1 to 7, the Bible describes the character and heart of a man who serves as a leader in the Lord’s church. It reminds us that this work is both noble and deeply meaningful.
A leader is someone who strives to live above reproach. He is faithful to his wife, temperate, self controlled, and respectable. He welcomes others with hospitality and is able to teach God’s word with clarity and humility.
The passage also teaches that a leader should not be violent, quick tempered, or driven by a love of money. Instead, he demonstrates spiritual maturity, manages his own household well, and has a good reputation among those both inside and outside the church.
We are thankful for men who take these qualities seriously and shepherd our congregation with sincerity, wisdom, and a Christ centered spirit.
