We follow the pattern given in the New Testament. Elders and deacons are appointed based on the qualifications found in 1 Timothy and Titus. The congregation is involved in recognizing men who demonstrate these qualities in their daily lives.

In many churches, the word pastor is used for any minister. In the New Testament, the word pastor refers to an elder or shepherd who oversees and cares for the church family. A minister is someone who teaches, preaches, or serves in various areas of ministry, but does not hold the role of an elder.

Both roles are important. Ministers serve the church through teaching and outreach. Pastors, or elders, shepherd the church through leadership, guidance, and spiritual care.

Elders shepherd the church. They guide, teach, protect, and care for the spiritual wellbeing of the congregation. Their role reflects the heart of passages like 1 Peter 5 and Acts 20.

Deacons serve the church by helping meet practical needs and supporting the work of the congregation. Their example comes from Acts 6 and 1 Timothy 3.

We believe Christ is the head of the church. He set in place a simple and purposeful structure for leadership that supports unity, spiritual growth, and healthy relationships within the church family.

Elders prayerfully consider Scripture, seek wisdom, and work together in unity. They listen to the congregation and aim to make decisions that honor Christ and build up the church.

Our leaders love spending time with the church family. You can meet them before and after services, during Bible classes, or by scheduling a visit or conversation at any time.
